Tasty Superfood Breakfast Matcha Chia Pot

I’ve been in the Fitness industry now for well over 10 years, and the one thing clients of mine really struggle with is breakfast. normal the go to foods are either eggs, fish and Oats when trying to stay on track. The guys at Fresh Fitness Foods have been at it again trying to solve this, once and for all.

This breakfast dish combines two of the hottest super foods right now, chia seeds and matcha extract. Chia seeds are a high fibre food, containing almost 11g per ounce! Because of this and the high fat content, chia can be a great natural blood-sugar balancer, helping to keep insulin level in check. Matcha powder has been shown to boost metabolism and burn calories. This combination is a great way to kickstart your day!

With the added benefit of Vanilla whey protein powder (15g) and coconut yogurt too, it goes without saying that your muscles are being well and truly looked after, this breakfast is a winner!

The only thing you need to worry about with this recipe is that you don’t eat too much!, with one serving at 460kcal-be sure to stick to the guidelines below!


Protein: 32g Carb: 40g Fat: 19g = 460kcal


2 tsp chia seeds
½ tsp vanilla essence
50mL almond milk
1 1/2 C coconut yoghurt
15g vanilla whey protein
½ tsp matcha powder
1/4 Cup granola
mango slices
fresh fruit salad

How to make the Matcha chia pot

Mix the chia seeds and matcha powder in with the almond milk and leave overnight to soak.
Combine the coconut yogurt with the vanilla protein powder
Place fresh fruits in the bottom of a glass and layer the chia mix, coconut yogurt and granola on top
Garnish with fresh mango slices
